十人十色 = ten people, ten colors
This is a Japanese idiom that means, basically, everyone is different and it’s those differences that make life interesting.
I thought of this idiom when I stumbledupon this photo collection called Created Equal by Mark Laita, He is asking us to think about the U.S. (and arguably much of the rest of the world), and how we are, at least in theory, created equal. The reality — how we think about and act towards each other — is often different.
I’m not sure why the book costs nearly $500. Seems a bit ironic to me.
