“Idling stop” is a Japanglish term that means “turn off your car instead of idling”. I sometimes see bumper stickers on taxis and trucks and posters here and there around the city.
This time of year, it’s hard to encourage people to do this. It’s so hot and humid outside, that taxi and truck drivers who nap in their vehicles after lunch would certainly suffer if they turned off their engines. So what other solutions are there?
