Walking to school

This is a story about a school district in suburban Ohio. Watch it and compare and contrast your own experiences as an elementary, junior or high school student.

This school district is probably not typical in the US, although it’s hard to generalize about much in a country that’s so big and so diverse. But it does seem like they’re trying to create a healthy and vibrant community.

I know that most Japanese students don’t ride school buses, but do you know anyone who has? Can you imagine what the experience is like, compared to being driven to school by a parent, or compared to taking the train, as many students do in Japan?
