Another reason to spell-check

Here’s an article from the BBC about the role of data, including your presence on social media, in your search for a job:

“Does job success depend on data rather than your CV?”

The learning/research portfolios you’re making for our classes can be part of that presence. They can show future employers what you’re capable of doing in English. All the more reason to write about things that really interest you … and to proofread carefully.


Key vocabulary:

CV = curriculum vitae. Many English speakers (especially in the US) say résumé , which is very different from the Japanese word レジュメ. A CV/résumé means your education and employment history. The Japanese word レジュメ means an outline for a presentation or speech.  If you ever have to write a CV/résumé in English, here are some tips.
