Karasu no ongaeshi

“Tsuru no ongaeshi” (鶴の恩返し) is a traditional Japanese folktale. The title has been translated as “The Crane’s Return of a Favor” (direct translation) and “The Crane’s Gratitude”.

Here’s the story in English.

Karasu (カラス) is the Japanese word for crow or raven. Here’s a story from the BBC about a girl who feeds birds in her backyard, and the crows bring back trinkets for her.
