The school year is about to begin and many freshmen will be leaving home for the first time. Those of you who are coming from further away and living in dorms or apartments may start to miss your mom’s cooking. In Japanese, the phrase people use is very interesting: おふくろの味 (“mother’s taste” — we can get into the question of why mom is called a “bag” later…)
What dishes your mom makes would you like to recreate here in Tokyo? Or get Knorr to fly her in to make for you! Do you still have time to learn a dish before you leave for Tokyo? What about your dad? Does he cook?
And if this video doesn’t make you want to call your mom, I’d be surprised.
