Elon Musk has a new idea for high speed commuting: a capsule traveling through a steel tube at 760 mph (1,220 kph). The shinkansen’s top speed, I believe, is 200 mph (320 kph), though the speed record was broken recently and now stands at 374 mph (603 kph). You can read more about the new idea here:

Reading this article, I keep thinking about Augustus  Gloop in the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie:

And yet if I could do my hour-long commute in 15 minutes or less, I’d be happy.
